HELP! I need to reset my password

Introduction

This article provides step-by-step instructions on resetting your password using the Microsoft 365 Self-Service Password Reset (SSPR). Please view theOffice 365 Password Reset article if you know your password and want to update it.

Using the Office 365 Password Reset utility

1.

Open a browser and navigate to https://my.hccfl.edu/.  You will be presented with a prompt to sign in.  Click the link "Can't access your account?" to start the reset process.

2.

On the next screen, select "Work or school account" to reset your student or employee account password.

3.

You will be prompted to enter the email address of the account that you need to reset the password for, along with a Captcha phrase to verify that you are a person and not an automated system.  Once you have entered the information, click on Next to continue.

4.

To reset your password, you must verify that you are the account owner.  You will need to have a verification code sent to  two of the following:

  • Code to Personal Email address
  • Code to Mobile phone
  • Call to Mobile Phone
  • Security Questions
  • Microsoft Authenticator

If you no longer have access to two of the listed methods, you must contact the help desk.

5.

You will need to verify that you know the verification method (the actual telephone number or email address). Enter the information being requested and click Next to continue.

6.

Enter the verification code provided using the methods selected and click Next to continue.

7.

After verifying your identity, you can create your new password.  Please refer to our FAQ: Password Security article for more information on creating a secure password.  Once you have created your password, click Finish to save it.
