"When happens to my benefits when my employment ends at HCC?

Benefit-eligible employees whose HCC employment ends will have their Florida state benefits, including health, dental, vision, etc., generally end on the last day of the calendar month following their last day of employment.  For example, if the last day of employment in the benefit-eligible position is May 15th, benefits end on June 30th.  There may be an option to continue benefits under COBRA for up to 18 months, but the individual will be responsible for 100% of the benefit premium(s).  Employees who continue to work in a part-time position at HCC or another Florida agency will have their future benefit eligibility reviewed by People First. 

Employees with additional questions about COBRA and/or benefit eligibility under the state benefits should contact People First, 1-866-663-4735 and ask to speak to "Special Handling."
